It was a cooooold morning Sunday out in Charlotte where 3 members of Team Star Frame Discs battled the competition and the temperature in the attempt to take home the highly sought after wooden disc trophy! With temperatures in the 20s when we arrived and only pushing toward mid 30s by the end of it, it was a rough round. Let's talk about this course though! Kilborne is gorgeous! It's a wooded course but with fairways that are large and quite fair indeed. It commands some very specific shots on some holes but leaves you free to choose what you want on others. Personally, I flicked way more here than in any normal round I play. If you ever find yourself in or near Charlotte area, go check this course out for sure. Let's get down to the results! Starting with A pool, I finished with a score of 49 (8 down) which was outside the cashing positions. Despite the fact that I birdogeyed twice, not a way to help your score, I felt that I played an okay round. In C pool, team start frame member Landon R finished with a second place finish!!! Again...one of these months you'll nab that elusive trophy! And moving on down to E pool, for her first tournament ever, Star Frame's own Meagan D finished with a tie for 3rd place!!!!!! Shoutout to her for cashing in her first try at a large tournament! The nerves were clearly an issue as she started with 3 bogeys and a double on the first 4 holes (a +5 in just 4 holes). That said, she finished out STRONG with only 2 more bogeys the whole round and a bunch of pars to finish at +7! Nice job Meagan! That's it for this one, I'll be back next week to recap Mooky's Cup! Peace.
